Weapons for chieftains and farmers
The Vikings trained for battle their entire lives so that they could defend their village and family and go on raids for the king and riches. Not all weapons were for everyone. The axe was cheap, powerful, and easy to use. The sword was good in single combat, but expensive, so only for the wealthy. The shield could be used both for protection and offensively by most people. Feel the weight of the weapons and try for yourself how the Vikings prepared for battle.

The Vikings were born warriors
Free men had the right to bear arms in the Viking Age. In the event of an attack, all men capable of bearing arms were obliged to defend their homeland. Only the wealthiest or professional warriors had expensive swords. Most warriors made do with a good axe or lance. They were effective warriors, and training in tactics and combat techniques began early in life.
